This image shows the structure of protein MJ0577 from Methanococcus jannaschii, determined in Sung-Hou Kim's group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and University of California at Berkeley.

The solution of the three dimensional structure of this protein revealed bound ATP, suggesting a putative function as an ATPase or an ATP-mediated molecular switch, thus giving functional insights to all members of this homologous family of proteins.
